Myofascial Dry Cupping 90mins
Promote healing in targeted areas of the muscles and connective tissues (90mins)
Service Description
Myofascial dry cupping is a therapeutic technique that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. This method targets the myofascial system, which includes the muscles and the connective tissue, or fascia, surrounding them. The suction helps to lift the skin and underlying tissues, which can improve blood flow, release tension, and promote healing in the targeted areas. Unlike wet cupping, which involves making small incisions in the skin, myofascial dry cupping does not break the skin’s surface. Benefits Pain Relief: Alleviates muscle pain and tension by increasing blood flow and promoting the release of tight fascia. Improved Blood Circulation: Enhances circulation in the treated area, which can help deliver nutrients and oxygen to tissues and remove waste products. Fascial Release: Helps to release adhesions and restrictions in the fascia, improving mobility and reducing discomfort. Reduced Inflammation: Can help reduce inflammation by improving lymphatic flow and promoting the removal of inflammatory mediators. Increased Range of Motion: Enhances flexibility and range of motion by loosening tight muscles and fascia. Detoxification: Aids in the removal of toxins and metabolic waste from tissues. Stress Reduction: Promotes relaxation and reduces stress by relieving muscle tension and improving overall circulation. Enhanced Healing: Speeds up the healing process of soft tissue injuries by increasing blood flow and nutrient delivery to the affected area. How it works During a myofascial dry cupping session, the therapist places cups made of glass, silicone, or plastic on the skin. A vacuum is created inside the cups using heat (fire cupping) or a mechanical pump, which causes the skin and underlying tissues to be drawn up into the cup. This suction effect helps to lift and separate the myofascial tissues, improving blood flow and encouraging the release of tight or adhered fascia. The cups may be left in place for several minutes or moved around the area in a technique known as “gliding cupping.” The treatment can be customized to the individual’s needs, with the intensity and duration of the suction adjusted accordingly.
