Service Description

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is particularly helpful for chronic aches and pains and contracted areas such as stiff necks, upper back, lower back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders. The technique uses slower, more forceful strokes to target the inner layers of muscles and connective tissues. Benefits Pain Relief: Alleviates chronic pain by breaking down adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) that can disrupt circulation and cause pain, inflammation, and limited movement. Improved Blood Flow: Enhances blood circulation, promoting the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to muscles and tissues, aiding in healing and recovery. Reduced Muscle Tension: Helps release muscle tension and stiffness, improving flexibility and range of motion. Stress Relief: Reduces stress and anxiety by lowering cortisol levels and increasing oxytocin, the hormone that creates a sense of calm and relaxation. Improved Posture: Corrects imbalances caused by chronic muscle tension and misalignment, promoting better posture. Injury Rehabilitation: Assists in the recovery from injuries by reducing inflammation and facilitating the healing process. Lowered Blood Pressure: Can reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure, along with heart rate, promoting overall cardiovascular health. Scar Tissue Breakdown: Helps to break down scar tissue, improving lymphatic circulation and flexibility in the affected areas. How it Works The massage therapist applies sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of muscles and connective tissues. By using their fingers, thumbs, elbows, and forearms, they are able to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia. The goal is to release muscle tension, break up scar tissue, and improve blood flow to the area.
